Engineering magazine's editors have
named
the COSMOS 2005 design analysis software
suite as one of the most significant
innovations of 2004, SolidWorks announced
today.
Control Engineering chose COSMOS
2005 based on its service to the industry,
technological advancement, and market
impact. COSMOS 2005, released in June,
consists of new versions of COSMOSWorks
design analysis software, COSMOSFloWorks ä
fluid dynamics software, and COSMOSMotion ä
motion simulation software. The COSMOS 2005
product group has more than 100 new
user-driven features that make sophisticated
design analysis easy for virtually every
person in product development, regardless of
their technical expertise. More than 13,000
companies in industries ranging from
aerospace to automotive to manufacturing use
COSMOS to analyze designs throughout product
development, preventing costly late-stage
errors, improving time-to-market, and
cutting material and labor costs.
Control Engineering selects its
Editors' Choice winners from among all the
products it reviews in a year and features
winners in the January edition. COSMOS 2005
is one of 40 products to win Editors' Choice
distinction.
“Choosing 40 products from among the
hundreds released every year is no small
task, but there is always a cadre of them
that rise to the top for their combination
of innovation and practicality. Considering
the level of competition, we like to think
that our Editors' Choice award recipients
represent the best products in their
respective disciplines,” said Control
Engineering Editor in Chief Mark Hoske.
“Much of the work we do with our COSMOS
products is focused on bringing design
analysis into the engineering mainstream,”
said Suchit Jain , SolidWorks Corporation's
vice president of analysis products. “This
recognition from such a widely read
publication shows us that we're getting the
word out that engineers at every level of
the design process can use analysis software
to create value for their companies.” |
